Selection principle of fire pump

(1) The selected fire pump shall be subject to the type inspection by the national fire product quality supervision and inspection organization, and conform to
*1 GB6245-2006. The original name of the standard is "performance requirements and test methods for fire pumps") (gb6245-1998 (first issued in 1986)
(2) Select and determine the type of fire pump according to the project characteristics, power supply, location and area of fire pump room and the specific situation of fire water supply system.
(3) The flow and head of the fire pump shall be calculated and determined according to the requirements for fire water volume and water pressure of the project served.
(4) The fire pump of temporary high-pressure or stable high-pressure fire water supply system shall adopt the operation mode of one in use, one for standby or multiple in use and one for standby. The working capacity of standby pump shall not be less than that of the largest one. When it is multi-purpose and one standby, the influence of parallel operation of multiple fire pumps on system flow and pressure shall be considered.
(5) The power of the prime mover of the fire pump shall meet the working requirements within the operating range of the pump.
(6) Whether frequency conversion controller can be used for fire pump? The Ministry of public security has arranged engineering pilot projects in Beijing and Hebei Province in the 1990s, but there is no conclusion yet. If it needs to be adopted, it shall be approved by the local fire department.
